Lightning has struck. You know what’s coming. Are you ready for it?
Lightning is overrated: short-lived, unpredictable and potentially fatal.
Thunder is where the magic happens.
You know it’s coming. It’s going to be strong and loud and it’s going to rumble your insides.
Sure, we need the lightning–it’s where it starts. It’s the spark, the ignition and the beginning of something. But it’s what we do next that matters most. We can all have brilliant ideas and fantastic plans, but success comes from the execution and management of that initial clap of expanding energy.
The original bolt comes to you in a flash. It’s there for the taking. It might be a business idea, a new-found level of performance or a unexpected jolt of love. It hits you, shocks you and wakes you up.
But then comes the rumble. You can’t predict exactly when it will hit, but you know it’s coming. If it’s right, it surges through you and you feel it. It surges from somewhere deep in your core, gains momentum and power through your heart and as it ascends into your upper chest and lungs and throat, it takes your breath away. That is thunder.
I’m going to bring it every week.
By Thursday, lightning has already struck at some point over the weekend or early in the week and the thunder is going to roll through town on Thursday to set the tone for the end of the week and the weekend. I’m also addicted to alliteration and I couldn’t keep away from the Thu Thu juice. 😉
Contrary to most meteorologists, I don’t think we need to wait around for a storm to experience the jolt of lightning and the power of thunder. I can’t be swayed in my belief that we have this power within us and it’s just clamoring to escape and be put to good use.
Lightning strikes all the time. Thunder follows without fail. We know it happens, we’re just not always aware of it–we might have to listen carefully for it. I’m going to do my best, over the next 100 weeks, to bring the Thunder on a weekly basis. The question is, what are you going to do with all of that extra energy?
Welcome to Thursday Thunder
It is not light that we need, but fire; it is not the gentle shower, but thunder. We need the storm, the whirlwind, and the earthquake.
