Do others have a more clear insight into ourselves than we do?
It’s highly possible.
You know when you meet someone for the first time yet you’re pretty sure, after just a few minutes, you realize it might not be the first time? Well, yes, the first time as these two people, but these are cases when you start to wonder about the universe and how it brings people together and all that.
I had barely sat down. We were rattling off topics back and forth as if we hadn’t seen each other in years. Well, because we hadn’t. But we had never seen each other before (actually, not true, we met a few months’ prior and vaguely said we should see for coffee–this was that coffee).
“You need to be on stage,” she said. “You need to take what you’re saying to me to an audience. You belong there, on stage, as a speaker.”
It was the second time in a week that I had heard it. One from someone I have known for 10 years (and who knew my personal as well as business world inside and out) and this woman over tea who knew me in the time that cup of tea was still hot.
Whatchagonnado?
Easy. Do what they say. Do what you know is right. Do what you know you need to do, what you want to do.
“So why aren’t you doing it already?”
She asked. I didn’t have any excuses. But I also didn’t need or want any.
“I’m starting right now, right here,” I said.
