Everyone tells us we need to slow down, do less, and relax.
But what if that’s not your version of relaxing?
In this episode, I wonder whether we’ve been asking the wrong question. Instead of trying to force ourselves into someone else’s idea of “rest,” maybe we should discover what genuinely restores us.
For me, that isn’t sitting still.
It’s creating.
It’s recording videos while walking through the woods with Pepper.
It’s writing books.
It’s interviewing fascinating people.
It’s learning Italian on a park bench.
It’s meditating every morning.
It’s making something that didn’t exist yesterday.
Maybe your way of recharging looks completely different.
In this episode I explore:
• Why I struggle with the traditional idea of “relaxing”
• The Danish idea of hygge and the Dutch idea of niksen
• Why meditation and creating both bring me clarity
• The difference between work that drains you and work that energizes you
• One simple question that might change how you think about rest
Maybe the goal isn’t to do nothing.
Maybe the goal is to discover what gives you energy.
I’d love to hear your answer.
What does relaxing look like for you?
Don’t ask, “How do I relax?” Ask, “What restores me?”
