What I found when my heart cracked open
I used to hear the phrase “my heart cracked open” and think I understood it.
I didn’t.
Not really.
It sounded painful. Dramatic. Maybe even a little dangerous.
But recently, I felt something that made the phrase finally land.
In this episode, I try to describe what it feels like when the heart opens — not as something broken, but as something revealed.
The image that came to me was an avocado seed: hard, closed, protected, clamped shut.
But when it opened, what I found inside was more like a walnut — alive, intricate, glowing, connected, full of movement and energy.
And love.
So much love.
More than I thought was there.
This is a reflection on self-love, loving others, giving love, receiving love, and the strange truth that love doesn’t run out when we share it.
It multiplies.
Maybe that’s what happens when the heart cracks open.
We discover there was always more inside.
