What are you against?
I was driving, listening to the StoryBrand Podcast, when Donald Miller dropped a simple idea that stopped me cold:
If you want clear messaging, you need to know what you’re against—not just what you’re for.
That’s tricky for me.
I’m a positive guy. I like silver linings, encouragement, and possibility.
But the more I thought about it, the more I realized: avoiding the “against” part makes the “for” part fuzzy.
So this episode is me thinking out loud—about The Year of You, Repossible, and even myself.
What am I against?
• Drifting through another year on autopilot
• Waiting for perfect conditions
• Believing change is only for other people
• Thinking failure makes you a failure
And here’s the twist:
The clearer you are about what you’re against, the stronger—and more believable—what you’re for becomes.
At the end, I turn the question to you.
What are you against?
And what does that make you for?
Let me know.
