The other day I asked my readers a simple question:

Which of the nine villains is holding you back?

The reply came back fast and honest:

“I’m all of them.”

And you know what?

That’s the truth most of us don’t say out loud.

We’re not just an Overthinking Oliver or only a Procrastination Patty.

We’re a messy, rotating cast of villains—sometimes whispering, sometimes shouting.

The Real Question Isn’t

Which One

… It’s

Which One First?

It’s tempting to want to defeat them all in one epic battle.

But here’s the thing: transformation doesn’t happen in a massive, sweeping gesture.

It happens one decision at a time.

You don’t need to silence every villain in your head.

You just need to choose which one you’ll face today.

  • Maybe it’s Perfectionist Pearl, nagging you to “wait until it’s flawless.”
  • Maybe it’s Mañana Mateo, soothing you with “you can always start tomorrow.”
  • Maybe it’s Fearful Fiona, convincing you that not trying is safer.

The trick isn’t to eradicate them—it’s to acknowledge them, pick one, and act.

Why This Matters

Awareness is knowledge.

But action is wisdom.

When you choose a villain to focus on, you stop being overwhelmed by the crowd of voices in your head.

You give yourself one clear target, one clear path forward.

So… Now What?!

Ask yourself:

  • Which villain is loudest right now?
  • Which one do I want to tackle first?
  • Which small step today could quiet them down?

Because you are all of them.

But you don’t have to face them all at once.
