“Did I want to walk in the rain and talk to a camera? Nope. Did I do it anyway? Absolutely.”

Welcome to Thursday Thunder, where we meet resistance with rhythm and prove—week after week—that we can do hard things.

? Episode Summary

This week, I walk through 9 powerful reasons why you’re more than capable of doing the hard thing you’re putting off—whether it’s writing the first sentence, showing up for your commitment, or taking that scary next step. Bonus points: it’s all under 10 minutes.

? Introduction: Why Hard Is Good

The resistance is real. But so is the result. The truth is, we don’t always want to show up. Sometimes the weather’s bad. Sometimes our energy is low. But doing the thing anyway? That’s where transformation lives.

? The 9 Reasons You Can Do Hard Things

1. Put It on the Calendar

Commit to a recurring time. Ritual makes resistance irrelevant.

2. Commit Without Knowing

You don’t need the full map. Just the first step.

3. Do It Anyway

Don’t wait for the perfect moment—it’s hiding behind the one you just showed up for.

4. Willpower Still Matters

Discipline isn’t outdated. It’s your launchpad.

5. Burn for Takeoff

Starting takes the most energy. Like a rocket, most of your fuel burns just leaving the ground.

6. Rocket Ship Inertia

Once you’re up, the going gets easier. Momentum reduces effort.

7. Accountability Partners (Hi, Pepper ?)

Get someone (or something fuzzy) to keep you honest and moving.

8. Momentum Is Magnetic

The more you do, the more you can do. Stack your progress.

9. Tiny Wins Count

You don’t need to change the world today. You need 10 minutes. You need this Thursday.

? What Makes It Stick?

You’re not doing it for the crowd. You’re doing it for you.

The audience is optional. The action is essential. That’s why I’ve shown up every Thursday for five years. That’s how hard things get easier.

? A Word on Villains

The hard part isn’t the action. It’s the inner voice saying:

“You’re not ready.”

“You don’t have time.”

“Do it later.”

Those are the villains. And the only way to beat them?

Do it anyway.

? Call to Action: Your Turn

What’s your “hard thing” this week?

Which of the 9 strategies will you try first?
